While you only really need your skateboard to skate, there are some accessories and tools that will really help you. Here’s what they are.

  • Skate Tool

Whether you’re at the skatepark or out in the streets, a skate tool will help you out in a pinch. These tools fit all the screws and bolts of your board, and makes it super easy to tighten trucks, setup a board or switch out wheels. The best part? These are pretty cheap! You can get them for under $15.

  • Non-Abrassive Grip Tape

If you need some new grip tape, pick some of this up. It’ll save you a lot of money in the long run because you won’t be going through skate shoes nearly as fast. The rubber grip tape works with the rubber lining on your shoes, so you still can get the flick on your tricks, without the worry of destroying your brand new shoes.

Check out this video we made on it, and pick some up now!

  • Wax

If you’re street skating, this is a must-have. Wax makes it easier for slides & grinds. Use it ledges, benches, rails, etc… The only key thing here is you don’t want to add too much wax to what you’re doing.

  • Helmet & Safety Gear

Safety really is first. There’s nothing worse than hurting yourself while skating, because now you can’t skate! Especially if you’re just starting out, safety gear is really helpful. Because the last thing you want to do, is to hurt yourself, and potentially sustain a very large injury.
