Ultimate Street Skateboarding Contest

The First Annual Braille Skateboarding Street Contest is upon us. What exactly is the Braille Skateboarding Street Contest you ask? Allow us to break it down for you. The members of the Braille team will be competing against each other in two events; Best Run and Best Trick.  For the Best Run, each skater has 3 tries to put together their best 45-second run. For the Best Trick, each skater has 5 tries to land their best trick on any obstacle in the Braille house. Each skater’s best run and best trick scores will be added together to determine the overall winner of the contest.  Although this may seem like a friendly competition, this is a high-stakes, winner-takes-all contest. That’s right, there’s a TROPHY on the line. A big, shiny, beautiful trophy and an entire year of bragging rights! Oh, and $500. What more could you ask for? Watch the video below to see how it all went down during our First Annual Braille Skateboarding Street Contest.

First Annual Braille Skateboarding Street Contest Final Results

1st place – Chris McNugget wins the trophy and the bragging rights with his incredible run and best trick. Be sure to check out the video to see Chris land his best trick, FIRST TRY; a fs tailslide to fakie manual, fakie fs 180 out. Total Score: 15.5

2nd place – Manuel “Mogely” Herrera put on an incredible performance. His best run was only half a point away from giving him a tie for first place. Mogely dropped the collective jaws of everyone in the Braille house when he landed a backside 270 lipslide down the bump-to-bar and secured his second-place finish. Total Score: 15.0

3rd place -Nigel Jones impressed us as usual. Not only with his amazing skateboarding but also, his high contest I.Q which he displayed in the Best Trick portion of the competition. Nigel secured the score of 5.5 by using his first attempt to land an impressive trick that he knows he can land every try. Make sure you check out the video to see Nigel’s trick. Total Score: 11.5

4th place –  Ricky Glaser and the Glo Father respectably tied for fourth-place. We all know both of these skaters are more than capable of taking the victory on any other day but unfortunately, the powers that be caused them to come up a little short on a few of their tricks. A fantastic effort from both of them, nonetheless. Better luck next time, guys! Total Score: 9.5

5th place – Sure, Maybe Uzi Walker finished last-place in the contest, but he finished first place in all of our hearts. Also, those nollie biggerspins were insane, not to mention his 360 flip 50-50 attempts. Total score: 9.0

We hope you all enjoyed the contest! Do you agree with the scores? Leave it in the comments below and let us know what you think. Now get out there and SKATE!
