  1. Jessica Quarles

Thank you Braille for making such great quality products!! I would seriously recommend this product to anybody who is just getting into skateboarding, and doesn’t want to break their wallet for amazing quality. I’ve been inspired by you guys for about a year, and I finally decided to get a board and try my hand (or feet) at skateboarding. It truly is an amazing thing to see how many skaters that have been inspired by Aaron Kyro and the rest of the Braille team. Keep up the great work!

  2. dw.mac

Got this deck about five months ago. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made! The bearings rusted due to my own negligence and they were replaced by the amazing people at braille! Thank you so much for my first real skateboard, and I’m proud to say I also bought the Kyro Dragon Slayer deck as well! 🙂

  3. Tom

My board came with only 3 wheels is that normal?

  4. Ariel David

What are the specs & brands of each part of the skateboard? — trucks, bearings, wheels (size & durometer), hardware, griptape. I tried to get in contact through “Contact Us” but my message was detected as spam. Im looking to buy this product but would like to know more. Im a big fan! Keep it up.

    • Braille Shop

Trucks (129, 139, 144 and 149’s) bearings (ABEC 9) and hardware( 1 Inch Phillips head) are all independent! Wheels are either Ricta or OJ. We usually mix them up to make each board unique. Once you order if you’d like a specific wheel size and durometer you can leave it in the notes and we’ll make sure you get what you need!

  5. Tristan Rodriguez

I cant add it to my cart can i get help

    • Jen Latch

  6. Autumn

I have been watching all of the YouTube videos teaching how to skate and how to pick out your first board, I decided to try it but I was wondering if you guys sell stickers as well to decorate the board my own way?

  7. Erik Sandager

The board is amazing and really fun to ride. When I was taking the wheels off I realized that one wheel was a slightly bigger size. Never noticed until I looked closely. I am a new skateboarder and is that something that is just done or was it just a tiny mistake?

    • Braille Shop

Are they the same wheel graphic?

  8. Gerardo

    When will u guys restock.

  9. Jack

Hey, I’m a big fan of your stuff guys. Was just wondering if you shipped out to the UK? More specifically Scotland? Cheers in advance

I was just wondering, looking to pick one up but what brand trucks are they? Thanks for taking time to read this !

    • Chloe Holmes

Hey! They are either Krux or Independent trucks. You can request one or the other upon checkout.

  16. Mason Benenati

I got my board and I noticed that I never got independent trucks that you said in an earlier review that they were all independent.

    • Braille Shop

      Were they black krux trucks?

  17. Rapharl

Does it include a skate tool
I also would like to see you in the netherlands smoetime

  19. Chakir

  24. Safah

What type of wheels does this board have? Does it have hard or soft wheels and what they be best suited to? Could I skate on rough terrain and still do tricks? And also what size are the wheels?
This is my first time buying a skateboard and therefore have no knowledge in what size board suits me, so any recommendations? I intend to do tricks yet still ride around on rough terrain, possibly to school ect, so would this be suited for me?

    • Braille Shop

We typically put on OJ wheels or Ricta wheels. They measure softness in durometers with us carrying 99A and 101A which is pretty standard for most wheels. Of course you can skate on rough terrain! For sizes we have from 51mm up to 56mm.

  25. Nick

    Is this good for tricks?

    • Jen Latch

      Yes! 🙂

  26. Imran

    Will you in to india

So I live in the Bay Area, ( just like kyro ) do I also have to wait 7 – 10 days for my complete ?

    • Devin Weber

No, it usually takes us a day or two to put it together depending on how many were ordered that day. Then shipping for you is likely only one or two days.

  50. Carter moss

Is this board a good first time board I know how to skate and can ride a board but I have never done any tricks should I just start with the best? Considering I don’t know what sizes I should get, does it depend on shoe size because I wear a 12 but I don’t way a lot just tall and skinny. I’ve only road longboards and my friends skate boards that’s why I’m asking this thanks.
Love the videos braille keep it up!

    • Chloe Holmes

      Thanks for your support!

Yes, this is a good board to start on. Definitely having high-quality stuff makes it a lot easier to learn. I would recommend 8.0. It is a preference point, but 8.0 is the most common size and would be fine for a size 12 shoe.

    • Chloe Holmes

It depends on where you live. Generally within the US it will take about 3-6 business days. Outside of the US is a bit longer.

  55. Mrshall White (verified owner)

Here is an honest review from an old dog that’s learning some new tricks. I ordered on a Tuesday got it on the East Coast of US before the weekend, Nice. It was ready to ride right out of the box. Natural has intrinsic beauty and the grain on this particular deck has a couple of interesting figures in it, bonus. The Indy trucks were a bit tight out of the box, but a little truck tuning is always part of the setting up a new ride. I asked for softer wheels and got 99a Ricta Sparx. I was hoping for OJ’s but the wheels are more than adequate for my current skill level, and they are on the softer side as requested. Then we get to the top of the deck and that’s where this board loses a few style points. The edges of the tape were trimmed but I am not certain they were burnished with a file of scrap tape. The tape around the hardware is blistered and torn by the screw heads, it’s minor but noticeable. And finally the hardware…. 3 of the screw slots are stripped out, and the others show signs of wear from the screw-gun bit so they will likely be a bit of a pain when its time to replace the deck.
I my time on a board was mostly spent in the 1980’s (yes I can still get on a board). Modern boards are way different from the vert boards we rode then. It has been a blast to ride and I stoked to get some more time with it under me.

    Totally worth the $$$.

(learn how to work that clutch on the screw-gun homies and you’ll have the stripped out screw thing licked)

  56. Benjamin Bodenschatz (verified owner)

I got my complete a couple weeks ago. Everything was perfect except for a little damage on the grip tape and the wrong size wheels. I got sent (1) 54 mm and (3) 51mm. I tried contacting them via email (1 week ago) and phone (1/2 week ago) to get these parts replaced, but no reply yet. I wasn’t upset at the mistakes, I just wish their customer service was better.

  57. Burgundy

The quality of the board is everything I hoped it would be, I’m looking forward to skating again after the 12 year break I took. I can’t get boards in my area so ordering a complete I can build upon in the future was my best option and I’m stoked with how well it worked out. 52mm wheels and Krux trucks as requested you guys rock! 🙂

    Cheers

    • Chloe Holmes

      Awesome!!! Thanks for your support!

  58. Alex

The board is good but the trunks came really squeaky which is a downside but other then that its good

    • Braille Shop

Awesome! The bushings in lots of truck squeak once you break them in. Try finding Bones Bushings and swapping them out to stop the squeak! – Nigel

  59. e

which are better krux or independant

    • Braille Shop

I’d prefer independent over krux but both are still great trucks! – Nigel

  60. Benjamin Bodenschatz (verified owner)

This is an update to my previous review where I complained about the customer service. Through that review I got in contact with the shop and they sent me new grip tape and wheels! I feel better now buying things in the future from this shop. While customer service may be slow at times, they are were very generous and sent replacement parts over quickly.

    • Braille Shop

Glad to see you were taken care of well in resolving the issue. We will work on our response time. Thank you for the feedback

  61. Henry Lee

can I add non abrasive grip tape to my order and have you guys put it on, or do I have to do that seperately?

    • Chloe Holmes

It would be slightly more expensive, but yes! Go ahead and email chloe@brailleskateboarding.com with what you’d like and we’ll get your order rolling – pun not intended 😉

  62. Hector

Hey, I’m a new starter at skateboarding is this is a good product for a new starter… and btw does this product comes with tires and grip tape or it’s just a board it self.

  80. JEREMY

Can you tell me if this complete skateboard is suitable for a 5 years old kid? Thanks!!

    • Braille Shop

This skateboard will be a little bit on the bigger side for a 5 year old but is also the best bet if you would like it to get something that will last a while.

  81. Jeremy

Can I choose between several brands of trucks and wheels at the moment?

    Thanks

  82. shawnnelson86

Just curious what brand bearings come in the trucks. I read many reviews that it’s independent trucks and Ricta or OJ wheels but curious on the bearings brand.

    • Chloe Holmes

      They come with Independent bearings

  83. Erik Sandager

    Replying to:

    Braille Shop – July 6, 2019

Are they the same wheel graphic?

Yes, they are. One is just a bit bigger.

  84. Brayden Bottger

do you guys have a recommended size for a 5’8 16 year old?

    • Jen Latch

Hey! It depends a little on the type of skating, but a 7.75 or and 8.0 is a great starting point.

  85. Jeremy C

Can I choose between several brands of trucks and wheels at the moment?

    Thanks

    • Braille Shop

No, unfortunately we only carry independent trucks and ricta rapido and sparx wheels for completes

  86. isaiah

    are the bering good ?

    • Braille Shop

They are good. We carry independent bearings

  87. Elizabeth

Would you suggest a 7.75 or an 8? I’m interested in starting skating, and am definitely interested in learning some tricks.

    • Jen Latch

An 8.0 gives a nice stable ride and is a good all around size, but a 7.75 can be a little easier to flip. I think for starting out and 8.0 is a good choice.

  88. Gerardo

When I order this can I get it non-assembled so I can build it myself?

    • Braille Shop

      Hey Gerardo,

We have the option to purchase the board and full kit.
That way you can assemble everything yourself.

  89. Coop

I’m considering on picking up my first board, but I wear size 13/14 shoes, also 6’5″. Would 8.5 be good starting point? I’m thinking of just on cruising on it to start anyway. Thank you for your time!

    • Braille Shop

That sounds like a great starting point for you. That should work well all around.

  90. James

If I order this product with standard shipping how long will it take to come

    • Braille Shop

      Hello,

Shipping in the US takes about 3-5 business days and International can take anywhere from 7-21 Business days.

I’m an experienced skater that retired about 7 years ago from skating but wanting to get back into the game are these blanks about or better quality than the blanks back then you could grab for cheap? I have very limited funds this looks to be a good choice for the price are the trucks low riders or mids? I remember I used to always skate Alien or element products

    • Braille Shop

      Hey there,
The blank decks are a steal for the price and quality. Good for any level skater.
We have Independent highs for our trucks.

  92. naava

what side is the nose on the skateboard (on the complete blank)?

    • Braille Shop

The nose is the steeper and wider side of the board. We can also mark it with a bolt if you wanted.

  93. phu le

Hi I just want to know if 8.25 deck is too big for my feet or not. I wear a size 10 half shoe.

    • Braille Shop

That should be fine. You never know until you stand on the board though.

  94. tom

I was wondering is there any way i could get grey grip tape on the board instead of black?

    • Braille Shop

      We don’t carry that unfortunately

  95. Tony Andrews

I have a question. Is a skinnier board like a 7.5, shorter in length than a thicker board like and 8/8.5?

    • Jen Latch

      nope – same length

  96. Nicko Schmitz

How long does it take to ship

Hey, just two questions. What size board should work for a 16-year-old beginning skater, and how soon could the board arrive considering that we live in Nevada.

      Hi Dylan,

The most common size is 8.0. It is a preference, but 8.0 is a safe bet. It generally takes about 1-2 days to assemble the complete and 3-5 days to ship anywhere within the US. Nevada will be faster – possibly within 2 days.
